While coaching High School soccer, what impact has the local club soccer programs had on your success as a coach? They help a lot because they are a feeder program to our school. What reason would you give aspiring high school soccer players ,who have not played club soccer in the past, as to why it is important to find a good club team in their local or extended area? Club teams are more advanced and the competition level is higher. All good hs teams players play club. You will be behind if you do not play club. All the state powerhouse teams players play club. What experience do you have with club soccer in your community or neighboring communities? playing indoor and watching the kids play. What advantage does a high school program with a great club feeder system have over schools that don’t have a strong foundation of club programs in their area? They play year round and play with some kids that they become familiar with. They also face the better players in the state, who they will face in the playoffs if they get there. What are some of the local club programs in your schools area that benefit your high school program? RYSA, GSA , AFC lightning Have you ever coached at the club level, if so, when and where? What positives did you take from that experience? Yes, Birmingham Alabama. You learn how competitive it is. From a high school coach’s perspective, what would you like to convey to all the club parents out there who sacrifice their time, money, and energy, for the betterment of their children? It pays off! Through success or getting a scholarship What clubs and club coaches have had a positive impact on your coaching career, and why? Just the ones in Alabama, they help me learn the game from a coaches perspective. What do you love about the game of soccer? The non stop competition, the buildup to get a goal, and the friends you make, since they are soccer people too. What do you love about coaching high school soccer? The kids and the competition.
